Simple elegance and comfortable living in an apartment block

A modern apartment block with 44 flats was built at Steinwiesenstrasse 2 in Schlieren. The building, which is predominantly constructed in exposed concrete, impresses with its clear lines and functional design. The aim was to create a sustainable building without superfluous frills that is characterised by its simple elegance and durability.

Project description

The new apartment block is located on the former PanGas site in Schlieren and consists of 44 small flats. These are particularly attractive for commuters, as Schlieren railway station is less than five minutes' walk away. The materialisation of the building is robust and haptically expressive, which was achieved by the careful planning and execution of the architects and builders.
The building consists of repetitive standard storeys, which enabled an efficient construction method. The use of exposed concrete gives the building a timeless aesthetic and emphasises the claim to sustainability and durability.

Special features and challenges

Meeting the tight schedule posed a particular challenge and required optimal logistics and the effective use of resources.
The building shell is of the highest quality. Almost all concrete surfaces remain visible, which required particular care and precision in the execution. This applies to all walls, ceiling soffits, garage floors and balcony surfaces, which impress with their flawless finish and aesthetic effect.
This careful planning and execution has resulted in a durable residential building that meets the demands of modern urban lifestyles. Steinwiesenstrasse sets new standards in sustainable construction and offers comfortable living in close proximity to the railway station and urban amenities.
