After the city of Kloten had to struggle with massive space problems for school rooms, it was decided to build a new building on the Looren site. This was to house a kindergarten as well as a crèche. WALO Dietikon was able to convince with a very special floor.
Due to the limited space available, the architectural firm L3P Architekten AG
from Regensberg designed and planned a three-story building that fits perfectly into the site thanks to its polygonal shape and makes optimal use of the buildable area. Two kindergartens are accommodated on the first floor and four crèche groups on the upper floor. Due to its architectural formulation and strong color scheme, the building has an independent character and stands out clearly from its surroundings. The choice of colors was also carefully considered. The colors were based on the identification colors of the crèche groups, which was also to be transferred to the floor.
For our flooring experts, it was clear that only a floor containing natural materials would be considered for a crèche. Since many children crawl on the floor in a nursery, it also had to have a pleasant feel. In addition, it should be robust and durable as well as easy to clean in order to meet the requirements of the day-to-day running of the nursery.
The architects were convinced by the NATUROLISS®
product. The jointless liquid floor consists exclusively of the natural materials cork, linseed oil and biopolymer as a binder. With its wide color spectrum of 32 colors, it was also possible to meet the color specifications. The floor has a pleasant feel and is reminiscent of linoleum in texture. It is hard-wearing, highly resistant to scratching, abrasion, light and color, and thus meets all the requirements for durability and resistance. Like all seamless floor coverings, it is also easy to clean.
