In the middle of Zurich Oerlikon, a new replacement building in the form of an apartment building was constructed.
The house contains 22 new apartments and a pizza take-away. By making optimal use of the available space, the loggias brought a lot of light into the spacious rooms. The Oerlikon train station is easily accessible within a 5-minute walk. Due to the underground parking spaces and the close connection to the highway, private traffic has also been solved without any problems. The increased sound insulation requirements are a great advantage in this lively part of town and increase the quality of life in the apartments.
Tight space conditions and a main road with a lot of traffic resulted in a great logistical challenge. With a space-saving positioning of the crane in the corner of the plot and the construction of a steel-frame platform with steel plates as a passage and handling area, the Rühlwand took on a double function at once. The good cooperation between the planners and the executors resulted in a high-quality structure that satisfied every party involved in the construction.
